This is just wrong

In the above poor-quality photo of my hotel room, can you spot what is wrong?

It has become a trend in China hotel design to make bathrooms with glass walls.

They errantly suppose that young couples are the only ones that occupy hotel rooms. But really, even if you are part of a couple, do you really want to see everything that goes on in the bathroom? Some things are meant to be private.

But even among the Chinese, business colleagues are required to share rooms. So glass walls are just ridiculous.

Some bathrooms have no shades you can pull down. This one has a shade, but it only covers one wall; and it is not waterproof, which would be helpful since there is no shower stall, just an open space for the shower. So if your roommate had to walk by the side that didn't have a shade, they could see in. And if during the middle of the night you wanted to turn on the bathroom light, the light would shine through the unshaded part enough to light up the room like the midday sun.

Glass bathrooms get two thumbs down from me. I have yet to meet anyone who likes them.

Thankfully, I've got this room to myself.
