Cutting down dry reeds from the lake.
The men are in a boat, the women are knee deep in the lake.
The guy on shore bundles up the reeds to carry off.
The reeds are loaded onto the back of his three-wheeler (yes, there's a bike back there behind the branches), and when piled high, will be driven back to their home villages to be burned as cooking fuel. Anyone willing to do the work reaps the benefit of free fuel. I am glad I can just pay the utility companies the cost of gas, electricity and water, but not everyone has the luxury of affording steep utility bills. Good for them for finding creative ways to make life work.
