Street Scenes in Beijing

I'm was in Beijing a week ago. (I'm not there now, but will be there again soon.) Here are a few street scenes for you. Here's the traditional 3-wheeler with a wheelbarrow on back. This wheelbarrow is covered by a shelf that holds various goods. The owner is trying to sell the goods to those who walk by on the street. This type of mobile store must be effective, because there are lots of these in China.

Breakfast, cooked while you wait at a street vendor's outdoor kitchen!

Beijing's traditional architectural design is different that in other parts of China. In Beijing, you see lots of eaves that are painted in similar colors and patterns as the one above.

On a cold March Beijing morning, an elderly man returns home after buying a day's worth of veggies. All these photos were taken on back streets near residential areas; these are not taken on main city streets.

This guy sells bottled water, soft drinks and souvenirs. His shop is located near a tourist site. Because Beijing is rich in history, just about everywhere in Beijing is near a tourist site.

Do I want to buy a bag with the founder of modern China on it? The guy responsible for arrogant policies that resulted in the death of millions of his own people? Uh, no, I think I'll pass. Thanks for asking though.
